Catharina: Dreamer
Hi, I'm Catharina. Energised with a lot of playful imagination and a love of colour, I inject my motivation and energy into every form of handicraft and I would love to share this wonderful experience with you. Our family home is 'the place' to visit and try out some of our motley … crowded … but extremely cosy, solitude.
After working a total of 17 years as a manager in a large German steel company, I was incredibly lucky to be able to follow my husband with the German Air Force here to America and let my innermost dreams grow wings. With our two beautiful daughters Felicitas and Laetitia at our side, we all worked together to create this little “holiday island" and now, we would like to share it with you. The original ideas started to come to me many years ago, just a little one at a time, each one better than the last. However, it was on a very 'spooky-weather' day that really sparked my flame. I had to go and pick up a package at a petrol station in the middle of nowhere, and although it was terrible weather outside and the day was miserable, I found myself happy and secure in this sanctuary that was a Petrol Station. The second I stepped inside, all was calm again, I was safe. It was on this day, that I knew it would be the first in a new chapter of dreams. And so, shooting forward to today, I would like to introduce to you 'Elli & Rosi's Petrol Station'. Obviously, there had to be a few small adjustments to make my dream come true … instead of a motorcar repair shop on the side, there is my living room 'Coffee Shop' instead. The tools used to repair an engine are replaced by paint brushes and sewing machines. A shelf filled with screws and oils, replaced with a wood-burning workbench … and of course, everywhere, in every corner of each room, plenty of colours to brighten your day.
